Green Tea vs. Black Tea: What’s the Difference?

A typical cup of tea has about 1/3 the amount of caffeine that you would find in the same size cup of coffee – but of course this can vary depending on the growing conditions and specific variety of tea and/or coffee, as well as the brewing methods used. In addition to caffeine, tea contains L-theanine, an amino acid that helps provide a calming and regulating effect. This combination of caffeine and L-theanine is one of the reasons that many people find that tea provides a sense of alert concentration, while coffee gives them caffeine jitters (myself very much included).
